# Kickchain Leaderboard: Rankings & Scoring

> See how rarity-weighted scoring ranks every predictor, find your own position, and learn how bold picks can launch you up the standings.

The **Leaders** tab shows you where every Kickchain predictor stands based on the results of settled World Cup fixtures. Rankings are driven entirely by on-chain data — every point, every position, and every card behind it is publicly verifiable. The more correct predictions you make, and the rarer the cards behind them, the higher you climb.

## How Scoring Works

Points are awarded only for **correct predictions** after a fixture has been settled on-chain. A correct prediction earns points equal to its **rarity weight**:

| Rarity | Points | Odds that unlocked it |
| --------- | ------------ | --------------------- |
| Common    | **1 point**  | \< 2.00               |
| Rare      | **2 points** | 2.00 – 3.49           |
| Epic      | **3 points** | 3.50 – 6.99           |
| Legendary | **5 points** | ≥ 7.00                |

Incorrect predictions score zero — only the results that come in give you points. Your total score is the sum of all rarity weights from your winning cards.

<Tip>
  A single correct Legendary prediction scores **5×** as many points as a correct Common. One bold call on a big underdog — if it comes off — can move you several places up the leaderboard overnight.

## Reading the Leaderboard

<Steps>
  <Step title="Champion row (#1)">
    The top-ranked predictor is highlighted with a **gold gradient row** that spans the full width. Their avatar initials, name, win count, and total points are shown prominently, along with a **🏆 TOP OF THE TABLE** tag.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Medal positions (#2 and #3)">
    Second and third place display **medal emojis** (🥈 and 🥉) next to the player's rank number, making the podium easy to spot at a glance.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Relative points bar">
    Every row includes a horizontal bar showing that player's score **relative to the leader**. The #1 player's bar is always full-width; everyone else's bar scales proportionally. This makes it easy to see how close a gap is at a glance.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Your highlighted row">
    Your own entry is highlighted in a distinct colour wherever you appear in the list, and is labelled **(you)** so you always know your rank at a glance.
  </Step>
</Steps>

## When Scores Update

Scores change only when match results are **settled on-chain** — typically shortly after the final whistle of each fixture. Until a match is settled, the predictions for it show a **Pending** status on your cards and contribute nothing to the leaderboard. Once settled, all winning cards for that fixture are scored instantly and the leaderboard refreshes.
